About the book:

March, 1349. The Black Plague ravages London and the whole of Medieval Europe. William Bennett, a young chandler, is forced to make a decision; take his wife and child and flee the city in the hopes that they can outrun the scourge, or stay and hope they survive.

The instant he chooses to run, his wife and daughter fall ill. Upon their deaths, he is greeted by a foreigner, Gabriel, who tells William that he is to become one of the Amamri, a group of immortals who are responsible for shaping and guiding humanity.

As William learns more, he finds that the Amamri are in part responsible for the plague that killed his family. He is now faced with another decision; to join them or fight against them.

About the author:

History is inspiring. In looking back at many events in history, I’ve found it fascinating how just one event, be it a conversation, a war, a religious conversion, can change the trajectory of humanity as a whole. And what if, there was a group of people whose responsibility it was to plan these events and try to shape the way the humanity evolves? That is the basis of my novel, “Shaping Fate.”

One of my biggest inspirations in writing this story was my father. He can tell you everything about history, down to the color knickers that a general wore during his final battle. He always had a way of making history come alive in a way that no textbook ever could.

It’s this combination of something old and something new – history as the backdrop for these original characters – that I think makes this story unique and interesting, and I hope you do too.

Thanks for checking it out.
