Chapter 1

INK

All her innocence and all her madness;

All her insecurities and all her sadness;

With each coax of those deep eyes,

You made her empty herself into you.

You took all she had to give;

Decided to keep her words that made you warm;

Told her what she needed to hear;

So she could tell you some more.

You stole all her words and left her void;

You left silently like a thief in the night;

With your name tipped over,

Like ink onto her soul.

MASTERPIECE

Who were you to take over this soul

And posses me like you did?

A devil with the voice of an angel

With your endless promising lies.

Like the meticulous perfectionist you were,

You made me bare myself to you

And took everything you needed to break me best.

With the precision of an executioner ,

You severed this heart in two;

Then retreated to a safe distance

To admire your beautifully ravaged masterpiece.

NUMB

Every beat of this heart

Is like a relentless throb of pain;

Constantly stabbing away.

Doesn’t hurt like it used to though,

Baby, I’m numb to the pain.

SURGEON

You hurting me was never an accident;

The scars you left too deep;

Not superficial enough to heal.

Like a surgeon with a scalpel

So intricate, so deliberate;

You dissected your way to my heart;

There you left the scars so deep;

Cut my heartstrings one by one.

Unintentional? I’ll never believe.

#AAA

When you find someone

Who can finish your sentences and read your mind

Don’t rejoice but dread;

In the fact that you’ve found the one

Who can say all the wrong things in all the right ways;

Break you in all the right places

And make you feel like no one else can.

The one person who knows you

Like a book they’ve already read

And can use your very own word against you,

The words you’ve never said.

WANDERLUST

Nothing can tie me down;

Wanderlust has taken me over.

Let me roam, let me wander

The seven seas and mountain peaks;

In search of a place that’s calling to me.

My long lost home before time

From whose speckle of universal dust

I was born

Till I find it peace will never be known.

Gripped by a lust to wander,

A restless soul, an unraveling thread

In this vast tapestry of time.
