My name is Moze Howard and I’m a creative sort that’s kind of all over the place. I’ve been writing in some capacity as a hobby ever since High School when I was published by Newsweek in their annual My Turn Essay contest, (the only High School student that year and almost the only student in general. I think there was one college student that year; it’s been awhile since 1995) and a number of poetry compilations that year and the years that followed. At around 19 years of age, however, supporting my mother became a necessity and dreams of being a professional creative fell to the wayside for many years.

Now I have a family of my own and a supportive wife who encourages me to follow my dreams. As such I’ve begun drawing, painting and, yes, writing again. Hence Savage Stars.

As a setting, Savage Stars is intended to be a little darker, rougher and maybe just a little more realistic than your big name Science Fiction franchises but, hopefully, with the same appeal. Perhaps more importantly I want to inject a sense of discovery into it, as a series, beginning with this first book.

Originally conceived of by my friend, Ryan Rimmel, who came to me one day with a pile of Scifi concepts and a working title; Savage Stars. He remembered that, in my youth, I’d been a writer and that I longed to write again. The timing was perfect and we began working. I tweaked the setting and plot he had, took the rough outlines for story points and expanded them into chapters and, now, here we are.

Now, of course, we’ve discovered Inkshares. Given this resource I have no doubt that the book will be finished and, with help from the community, I’m sure it will be great.
