My name is Rhys-Jordan and I am a teenage author with what I believe to be a great idea. I enjoy continuity because you can follow characters as they grow, but I also love standalone stories because they’re singular and not trying to support some bigger picture that might hinder the point of the story. With this in mind, I’ve come up with an idea for an ongoing series of fantasy novels, the twist being, each story takes place in its own dimension. This way, a story can be singular and not have to worry about what happened in the last one, yet if a character could transcend the barriers of dimensions, then the stories could be continuous. "Sarah" is the sequel to the first book I’ve published, "Monster versus Mortal", which you can check out here: http://amzn.com/1491757361 . You don’t need to read the first book to understand the second one, but if you have read it, then you can find some small references to that book within "Sarah".
Getting to this story specifically, "Sarah" is about a young girl who is bullied and looked down upon by everyone in her village, simply because she is blind. Because of this, she can appear cold to people who aren’t close to her. After a dramatic event, a gift of mysterious power and a quest to find her missing crush, she has to learn to balance her temper with her power if she wants anyone to call her a hero.
