I was inspired to write this by a trip my fiancee and I made to Paris several years ago. I encountered the golden statue of Joan of Arc astride a horse that’s located just outside the Louvre and got me to wondering about this young woman, her sacrifice and ultimate martyrdom and her relevance and place in history.
