A Yeti has died on the streets of Fallbrook, and now somebody is seeking vengeance.

My 60,000-word book, Requiem for a Yeti is a dark-humored urban fantasy similar to Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden novels but with the whimsical absurdity of Terry Pratchett.

Bill Monkley is the unlikely protagonist, a young malcontent fanboy going rapidly nowhere in the fictional Midwestern city of Fallbrook. Fallbrook is a brutal metropolis peopled with shadow creatures, mystical warriors and sinister criminals of a more or less human nature. A series of missteps enmesh him with the local underworld, where he unfortunately participates in the assassination of a Yeti mobster.

Now everybody on the hit squad is being killed one by one, and Monkley is rapidly trying to put the pieces together and figure out who is behind it before he ends up on the slab.

His investigations lead him into the hazy realm of sinister dark magic and dangerous fringe science. His troubled path finally culminates in a confrontation with the elusive, unstoppable assassin with an enigmatic code of honor.

Welcome to Fallbrook, the mystical linchpin to the universe.

Requiem for a Yeti will herald a bold new voice in the world of urban fantasy. This title fits in well with the dystopian genre, because it is the first in a planned series that I’m working on featuring the strange city of Fallbrook, and the events that transpire in the precincts of Fallbrook will ultimately bring about the end of the world.

Thank you for considering Requiem for a Yeti.
