Reggie is a modern fantasy novella about a man who wants to do the right thing, even if that means betraying some very dangerous people. Along the way, he finds a little bit of love, the truth about his existence, and exacts revenge on those he used to call "family". Originally, this story was a concept discussed by a friend and me when we were talking about Nephilim in the Bible. My train of thought took it much further than that and thus, Reggie was born. The main character is a man that can find comedy in many situations, balancing out his somewhat heavy and morbid profession as a mobster, although he is very serious when he believes the moment calls for it. He represents anyone that loves, loses, and hopes they can protect what is important to them.
The money that is raised goes directly into the editing and publication of this book in both paperback and e-book editions. I declined any sort of advance. I simply want to get my story out there, humbly hoping that I can become a published author.
I’m a man from a small, mountainous community in Georgia, where I was taught to enjoy the simple things. I had a great imagination, and it fueled a passion for reading that I keep to this day. I initially started writing when I was fifteen. I was entranced by fantasy, which led me to write a short medieval fantasy story. When I joined the military three years later, the creative part of my life was put on hold. After serving, I came home in 2007 to the small community and it seemed like all of the creativity that I had backed up for four years came rushing out. I began to take my writing more seriously at that point, firmly establishing my dream to become a published author. Ever since, I have been asking myself a simple, yet powerful question: "What If?" I write my stories to answer that question. The ability to say that this novel is published would be fulfilling a dream.
