About Moi

Hello, thanks for taking the time to look at RED WHITE BLACK, and especially more if you decide to back it. I’m a 30-something, stay-at-home dad who does some freelance work on the side. I’m also a writer, obviously.

As a writer, I tend to bleed noir. Whether I’m writing noir specifically, it tends to seep into about all of the genres I like dabbling in (western, science fiction, crime, and horror).

About RED WHITE BLACK

The story of RED WHITE BLACK came to me, if my memory serves me correctly, while I was in a rather cynical mood about racism and listening to 1950s rock ’n’ roll. The title itself is a reference to the American flag’s red, white and blue colors, though, in this case (RED WHITE BLACK) it is referring to three races.

Having both foreign and Native American blood (Cherokee), I’ve always had some pretty deep thoughts about the struggle that existed when one side of my bloodline came to America and raised havoc on the other side. It’s that sort emotion that drives me to want to write something in the vein of RED WHITE BLACK.

Eagle Eyes, who is the name of the heroine in the story, has her world beaten and shaken from her when her family and tribe are attacked one morning. The attack is unwarranted and is a complete massacre. Only a few survivors remain and are taken to reservations in Oklahoma. Frustrated with the lack of justice and conditions she finds herself in, Eagle Eyes leaves the reservation in search of the soldiers who destroyed the life she knew. She sets out across the country, hunting down each and every member of the band of soldiers who was involved in the attack. Along the way, she befriends a runaway slave and the two of them try to accomplish the impossible: bring justice to the western frontier.
