I started writing my own tales back in third grade, but stopped around the time I was in high school. Music became more an interest for me; telling poetic tales, mainly of infatuated loss. I guess it is safe to say that I fell in love with bands like The Cure and Depeche Mode because of this.

In my twenties, I started dabbling in creating scripts, which never saw the light of day and most likely never will, as when i moved out to Redding, my old laptop was stolen, as well as all the back up disks containing my every one of my previous works.

Since 1992, I’ve been recording albums with various bands; among them were my own founding groups Trembling and TR0LL, as well as my continuing solo music, under the name Hasenfang. I’ve also began working on a handful of board/card games of my own design, through The Game Crafter in Madison, WI. I have always been into art and am slowly getting into collage-work for the stories which I have taken up interest in writing again.

The Rainbow Within The Darkness, however, is a new tale I have had the pleasure of whisking up within about the last five years. My like my lyrics in the past, it is based off of personal depths of inner pondering and condemnation. I feel that the draft posted is slightly too obvious. Much of the lyrics I write are symbolic in nature or very surreal, though I would not say to the point of abstract. I feel that this short story, compared to those might come off a little plain...as if too easy to surmise. I am trying to work on this, as a means to make it more layered; more depths to the problem and to trace all various analogies to those circumstances which cobweb out onto the endless paths of consequence.

Hopefully my drafts here will help me out, from those of you who wish to give advice on the route I should take. My writings, as we ll as my lyrics of artwork, when based on personal experience or longing, are a means of release; to get the demon off my chest, if you will. That being said, I hope this story, as well as other I may add on here, will be enjoyable to those who read, as a means of escapism...or to simply relate.

You can catch the instrumental soundtrack album to Rainbow Within The Darkness, as well, located here:

The only track that is not complete is Dirge of Lamentations...as I am still working on the chorus notes. However, there will also be another album made in relation to this and the book, called Ethereal Creature, which will have lyrics to some of the tracks, as well as new tracks (w/ lyrics). Until then, Enjoy.
