Synopsis

Based off the urban legend of an arcade cabinet that mysteriously circulated around Portland, Oregon in the early 80s, Polybius is a horror ridden story that follows a reporter, Sam Osborn, who is approached by a frantic mother desperately looking for her missing son, Kevin Jacobson. As Osborn attempts to learn what happened to Kevin, he determines it has something to do with an insidious video game called Polybius.

By learning more about the game and Kevin’s obsession, Osborn stumbles across a treacherous path that will lead him to a point of no return.

About the Author

I’ve been telling stories for as long as I remember. Two years ago, I published my first book, Alan, a science-fiction about how I envision the world’s first artificial intelligence will be born.

I’m a web developer based out of Orlando, Florida where I live with my wife and daughter. I’m also working on designing my first card game.

About ’Polybius’

Polybius is my second novel. I learned about the Polybius urban legend earlier this year and immediately became enraptured with it. The story of a teenager vanishing after playing it quickly formulated in my head. I went to college in the Pacific Northwest and always felt it would be perfect for a Lovecraftian setting. Portland in the early 80s, at the dawn of the Information Age, seemed too good to pass up.

Based off of the success of Polybius, I have a number of other similarly macabre short stories in the same setting I’d also like to write.
