Perseus Wept is a dark, fast-paced tale, simple in scope but infinitely complex in its implications. I’ve always been fascinated by secrets, whether those lost to history or those hidden in the hearts of those closest to us. My first novel explores both, but also (hopefully) delivers mystery, action, suspense, and a healthy dose of absurdist humor.

The idea was born when my girlfriend asked me to tell her a story at 3 in the morning. The narrative that poured from my delirious, intoxicated, sleep-deprived mind was sheer nonsense - until the end, when I took myself by surprise with a twist that tied the rambling mess of a story together into a masterful example of accidental foreshadowing.

I wrote my first draft during the first few weeks after I moved to Mexico City, and I hope the wonder and beauty of my new home shines through in my writing. As I rewrite and polish the final draft the questions I have for you, dear reader, are thus: are there any aspects of life in Mexico that you’d like me to explore further? Should I delve deeper into the ancient history that shapes the story, or focus more on the action in the present? Are any (or all) parts of the story just a little too ridiculous?

I’m writing this book for you, and I look forward to hearing your feedback!
