He is Me

In the middle of an infinite void, he is alone.
He is unsure why he is there, in the centre of a great nothing. It feels to him as if somehow he’s been there for eternity, but only now aware.
He looks around, trying to find something out in the distance to make sense of, but there is no other object out there to allow the luxuries of relativity.
His mind attacks with questions. The empty tranquility of his lack of environment mocks him as anxiety swells up within him. There is nothing out there for him. He needs answers, from an interaction he is sure will not come, (for he has seen the world and it is nothing), but still he feels programmed to long for something, even if he can not fathom what that something is.
And then answers come. Not answers he seeks, but they arrive regardless, coming not from the void outside him, but from within:
You are man.
He understands the speech the moment it is spoken.
I created you, Adam; And now you will learn to be a man.
A thousand impulses fill his head and it strikes him now that he can feel. His chest beats a fast and unsteady rhythm. Aware of this, he looks down and surveys his body, and he wonders if it had always been there, unnoticed.
Another unexpected burst of impulses assault him and he begins to remember things, but the memories disappear before they can be processed.
Don’t be afraid, soon it will become clear.
Again he is hit with a barrage of memories and he feels the pain of knowing, and how foolish it feels for craving answers upon receiving his comprehension. But the knowledge grows outward, unstoppable.
He soon notices as the knowledge takes root and grows the more diluted the pain becomes until it’s not painful at all, almost pleasurable, and he finds his appetite building, until it stops.
“More.” It’s his first word.
Slowly, Adam. It will all become clear in time.
