The WORLD’S FIRST NON-HUMAN NOVEL.

Science fiction. Written by computer. That’s the fundamental idea behind Over Human.

Can it be done? Will it even be legible?

That’s what I aim to find out.

I’m a computer scientist, having worked in commercial application software systems for 23 years, and now working for the UK Government.

Inspired by the Geek & Sundry competition, and the current pace of progress in Artificial Intelligence, I’m going to combine my years of writing experience with my yearning for science.

I do not know at this point what will happen. I have designs in mind for how to achieve this, which have been percolating for some time, and which I’m ready to start developing.

The result WILL be a full novel. It may be written entirely by computer, or outlined by computer, or contain chapters or a voice generated by code. It may feature a new language.

It will likely feature topics seeded by me, as I want "Over Human" to be a meaningful title, and for the novel to fit within its choice of interpretations.

But ultimately I’m seeking to further the advance of science, by writing hard science using hard science. And I can’t wait to see the outcome.

This is my first foray onto Inkshares. As I get to grips with it, and this project, I look forward to adding more detail on my progress.
