Someone made a soup of Mom’s makeup in the toilet, and no one will admit to it. There’s a soccer tournament this weekend, but none of the children will go; ’Not Until the Guilty One Confesses.’
David, the oldest -- always the trusted, always the responsible -- is determined to find the culprit. He follows leads, deduces motives, collects clues -- until they start to form a twisted and sinister picture. Could Dad himself be the vandal? "With all of us grounded, he gets to do his grown up things all weekend!" It’s the only possible answer. But, can Dad lie to Mom like that? and can David prove it? Can you? before the tournament is over?
It’s a story about fairness and responsibility and what it really means to look out for your brothers and sisters.
*This story is novella length. It constitutes Part One of a trilogy of stories about growing up. Part One is a mystery, Part Two is an adventure story, Part Three is a social story. All three parts will be published together as a single work. I’ll include sample chapters for those as they become ready.*
