Reeling from the discovery of a horrific video from her childhood, fifteen-year-old Sawyer agrees to comply with the sexual demands of the senior boys who found it in order to keep them from sharing it with her entire school. When a new kid, Jake, inadvertently rescues her from this extortion, Sawyer relaxes into a false sense of safety, a safety that is crushed when her childhood abuser is released from prison.

Forced to choose between her love for Jake and self-preservation, Sawyer flees her hometown to Los Angeles where she meets Cash, a Southern catch whom Sawyer grows to rely on more than she will admit.
