On the far side of Earths moon buried deep into Necho Crater survives a base. Necho base was designed as a laboratory of evolution for the both the humans and the technology that occupied it. The space program of the late 22nd century placed it outside of all contact with human civilization in order for evolutionary changes take place outside of Earth’s influence.

Over hundreds of years the society has been split into four major classes. The elite class are few and live in relative luxury on the surface levels of the moon base. They control all industry, social, religious, operations of the base. The Middle class live in the central levels. Only the highest ranked BLUE middle class have any access to the upper levels and the upper WHITE class. The middle class does all the work in the base including an enforcement division called the Troubleshooters. The GRAY class live in the low levels crowded into communal living cubes and depend on the upper levels for all there basic needs. The lowest class are the mutated humans and the criminals that live hiding in the caves below the base that were never finished in construction. Most of the mutated never leave the caves there entire lives, but many are part of gangs that trade in illegal technology and often run raids into the GRAY levels.

John is a GRAY on the lowest level in a bad neighborhood along with his wife Sunita. The cube that they share with 21 other people is often raided for the stinky green sludge that they call food that is rationed out to them from above. On one such raid some members of the cube community are killed. John is struck with fear for his unborn child and must make a decision to live in the status quo, or to send a message to the gang that threatens his cube. Johns actions leads him into a greater understanding of how Necho base operates and who is in charge. Will he reach his goals and raise a family in the safety of the higher levels of the base and society or will his actions threaten his dreams? Will Necho base itself accomplish its mission to advance civilization and technology independent of Earth’s influence or will it fallow along a similar coarse as Earth despite its independence?
