Discussion

I have the best crew of dedicated followers out there. You guys are just so fantastic!

TOO MANY CONTROLLERS, the short story project I’m part of, has hit the Quill funding goal and that means THE BOOK WILL BE PUBLISHED even if we don’t win this contest.

But let’s be real, you guys are going to make that happen, amiright?

Here’s why YOU need a copy - There are 15 amazing Inkshares authors coming together for this book for the first time in Inkshares history. I can tell you that each of us brings something great to the table. Trust me, I know, I have seen the synopsis of all the stories and even some of the early drafts. This book is going to be KILLER

Since it’s now public, here is the synopsis for MY short story.

1989 - Paul Inman

  • A rare, old arcade game is dropped off at a modern repair/restoration house where it is discovered that gameplay holds the keys to changing the events of the future.

Make sure you PREORDER YOUR COPY if you haven’t already. (I’m borrowing this great graphic from J.F. Dubeau)

Also very important, AGELESS is still looking for your reviews on Amazon and Goodreads!

Speaking of Ageless, I’m going to be at my local Barnes and Noble this SATURDAY for a Q&A and signing! If you are in the Myrtle Beach area don’t miss out! If you don’t haveAgeless we will have some on hand! Come let me thank you in person for helping me achieve this amazing goal!

Good morning! As always, thanks for your support!

I’ve put my funding shoes back on! Along with my contest shoes, and my writing shoes. and my BEGGING shoes...that’s a lot of shoes...I don’t have that many feet, FYI.

SO, if you can spare $10 for an ebook or $20 for a physical copy, please do! It’s an awesome project!

"WHAT IS IT, MAN?!"

Oh yeah, sorry. INKSHARES and NERDIST are sponsoring a new contest with the theme of VIDEO GAMES. And I have been asked to be part of something very special! It’s a Short Story Anthology titled TOO MANY CONTROLLERS with 14 other Inkshares writers, and it’s going to be AMAZING!

Also, there is a fun game (Inky Blot: World Domination) created just for this! Post your high score in on the page comments!

THIS BOOK IS GOING TO ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!

Thanks!

Well.

It’s been a good run.

Thank you to those who have supported this project. We will continue to work the manuscript, and it shall return. It will revert back to a draft and we will relaunch in the future.

Cam and the crew will continue.

The end is nigh...

Not really...BUT TOMORROW IS AGELESS’BOOK BIRTHDAY (aka PUBLICATION DAY)! Do you have one yet?

I will be taking over the Inkshares Twitter (@inkshares) for an AMA from 7:00-8:00pm EST/4:00-5:00pmPST!

Here’s how it works:

  • Get on Twitter.
  • Ask MAnything you want using the hashtag #AgelessByPaulInman so I can find the question.
  • I’ll answer as many questions as I can in the hour time frame.
  • We all rejoice, and most likely have ice cream/cake or ice cream cake (if you’re fancy)

I’m looking forward to all of the craziness that will happen tomorrow! Derek said craziness happens. And I believe.

Go here to read a fantastic interview I had with Alicia Smock on examiner.com! I share all my secrets...except that one...that’s for me only.

REVIEWS ARE IMPORTANT  (in case I hadn’t made that clear yet)

I am hoping to get 50-60 or more on Amazon’s Ageless page so we can get more visibility on the site. You’ll need to give a starred and written review, please - short and sweet is fine (5 stars - I loved it.)

Then copy and paste your review onto Goodreads Ageless page! It only takes a second and it could change my life.

LAUNCH PARTY SATURDAY!

DragonCon is a yearly event in Atlanta and this year for their 30th anniversary they’ve decided to create their own awards for SciFi and Fantasy called, what else, The Dragon Awards! If you enjoyed Ageless consider nominating me for an award. (Alternate History or Military SciFi would be the categories most like Ageless, yeah it’s hard to categorize).

Plus, it’s in Atlanta. That’s pretty much my backyard (not my backyard)!

Finally, I hope you all know that tomorrow is a celebration for all of us. You helped to make this story a reality. Last May, this was just a dream I had. Now here we are and you have that dream in your hand.

Thank you.

A God in the Shed by J-F Dubeau is a Fantasy/Horror story set in the forgettably small village of St-Ferdinand, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. The villagers have been hiding a terrible secret for generations, but when their mysterious captive escapes and gets inadvertently trapped in the McKenzy’s backyard shed, it’s up to Venus and her friends to figure out how to dispose of this terrible and malevolent burden; an Old God of hate and death.

You can find out more about this dark and beautiful book, read sample chapters, reviews and pre-order your copy of A God in the Shed by visiting: www.inkshares.com/books/a-god-in-the-shed

You can listen to the prologue as read by Ageless author Paul Inman (that’s me) here: youtu.be/XJw5oZhqtXo

 Need more incentive?

•Each pre-order enters you into the ‘I want to kill a reader’ raffle. The winner will have his name and likeness used in the book as a minor character that gets killed off. The author will work with the winner to find the appropriate means of demise to satisfy both the winner and the story.

•Each physical copy of A God in the Shed will be signed and numbered as an exclusive first edition item.

•Free, exclusive A God in the Shed bookmarks will be included with the physical copies and mailed to eBook supporters.

•Orders of three or more copies guarantees your name to appear in the Patrons list printed at the end of the book.

•You get to enjoy the satisfaction and pride at having supported both art and literature.

A God in the Shed is the first part of a trilogy that pushes the line between beauty and horror by telling a story that changes how we look at magic and the world around us. You have a chance of being part of making this book a reality and supporting a new author on his journey.

However, time is running out! The campaign ends April 22nd. Don’t miss out and order today!

The physical copy comes shortly after that!

I NEED ONE LAST thing from those of you who supported this project from the beginning - REVIEWS! AMAZON PAGE - Not open yet, but it will open around Pub date (May 3rd)

Thank you, and remember, you did this."

Well, hello there...

I see we have some new faces that have followed and some new purchasers as well.  Thanks for that! Time for some updates (fair warning: it’s been a while so there will be a lot).

First, Motor City Chronicles - Book One: Transgressions has recently gotten a GREAT book trailer. Check it out by CLICKING HERE!

It is with mixed emotions that I tell you the final draft of Ageless has my approval and it is with the production team and will be moving to the printing phase very soon. The people at Inkshares and Gril Friday have worked tirelessly to make sure that Ageless is the best book that it can be.

That’s it. The words are locked in.

 Forever.

 AND EVER...

It’s frightening, terrifying, in fact...only because it makes this whole thing that much closer to a reality. Yet, I am still full of excitement and drive to make Ageless into the best experience for both you, the reader, and me. The final thing left to approve is the ebook version of the book.

Which means we have also finalized the complete cover for the book and it is gorgeous. Check it out.

Wait...what are those words in the corner?

Yes, what you see is really there. It isn’t a figment of your imagination. We have a cover blurb! For those of you that can’t quite see it, here it is in its full glory:

"An elaborate story that challenges our inner detective. The intricate plot is a fascinating puzzle to navigate and enjoy." - J-F Dubeau, author of The Life Engineered and winner of the Sword & Laser Collection Contest

How cool is that? Awesome right!?!? (Click here for my review of his book, The Life Engineered.)

We are gearing up for the promotional/marketing push for the book as well. Hopefully we will be soon locating a great local venue to have an awesome launch party/signing, if you’re into that sort of thing.

For those of you that don’t remember the books publication date is slated for May 3, 2016. But the good news is that the backers will be getting it a bit before that (barring some unfortunate catastrophe). Why is that important, you may be asking yourself... Well, it’s important because that gives us plenty of time to jump start the reviews! In this crowded world of publishing reviews can make or break your book. I will be at your mercy one last time, in desperate need your help. In order for this book to dig its roots in and take hold we must a have a lot of great reviews. What’s a lot? Let’s shoot for a 3 digit number like 100 positive reviews. So that means, about 10% of the people who will be getting a copy. That seems totally doable.

Please, please, please don’t feel obligated to review (especially if you end up less than loving it; email me and tell me how to do better if you feel so inclined). I cannot thank you enough for all you have done to make this a reality.

I’ll leave you with the following (slightly edited) infograph about the importance of reviews borrowed from my fellow Inkshares author, G. Derek Adams, author of Asteroid Made of Dragons.

All,

Here it is - the final, FINAL version of the cover of Ageless. It's all thanks to you!

I would have never guessed last May/June would be such a major turning point for me as a writer.  You guys have help me accomplish one of my dreams.  I cannot put into words the appreciation that I feel, so I will just say thanks again.

Paul

Hey guys!

I'll TRY to be brief...TRY...

Lots of things have been going on since my last update.

  1. I have finished my first pass at the developmental edits on AGELESS and Lindsay, the editor, was very happy with the changes I made.  There were significant changes.  I cut between 5000-6000 words!  That is a ton of cutting!  But trim the fat right...
  2. The cover of AGELESS is coming together nicely!  We should have something locked down in the very near future!
  3. Inkshares will be changing the way the funding system works this Friday (250 preorders= light publication and 750= full publication with signed paperbacks)!
  4. SO if you haven't preordered at MCC - Book One: Transgressions (click me), now would be a good time.  The preorder cost will go up to $20 on Friday.  Right now you can get in with JUST $10!   Help Pat and I get this book rolling with the new funding goals!
  5. LAST - I WILL BE LIVE ON *CHANGES* THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING.  It's a live GOOGLE HOA where we will talk about lots of different things including AGELESS and MCC - Book One: Transgressions
Thanks guys!
You are all rock stars!

Paul
