Moonlight is the four part story of the odd-ball fairy, Amaris. Amaris is not like the other fairies who reside in the forest of Bantur; she doesn’t rise with the dawn, she isn’t graceful, she doesn’t have a commanding presence that makes the flowers turn towards her, and she can’t make the flowers bloom, no matter how hard she tries. Amaris is often ostracized by the other fairies due to her ineptitude. After all, who would want to be friends with a fairy who causes the flowers to wither in her presence?

In part 1, New Moon, a mysterious darkness invades the land, blotting out the sun and causing the flowers to die. It is up to Amaris to stop the encroaching darkness, save her home, and bring back the sun. Can the un-fairiest of fairies save her home or is Bantur doomed to eternal darkness?
