Sigrid is more at home in the encounters of a computer game than in meat-space with other people. Something about technology calls to her. Life is the wait for the next raid night. Her world changes when a video of a man with what can only be described as magic goes viral. Changes to the status quo are rapid as more of these "Casters" appear around the world.
Then Sigrid falls into a strange coma and can’t stop creating new technologies. Impossible things of Immeasurable power. As she is in this there but not there state, her parents spirit her away to their vacation cabin to recover, never truly expecting to see their daughter again. When she wakes up as a Caster, she sets out on her own to try and make sense of her place as a component in this new world.
Howdy all! I’m Murl and this is my first foray into the world of indie publishing. It’s going to be a learning experience, and that’s exciting in its own right.
During the day, I’m a mild mannered software engineer. I’m an avid tabletop gamer and I DM Dungeons & Dragons groups on my weekends. Storytelling has always been a passion, and so I tried my hand at a character exploration exercise. That few page exercise became a novella, and now I’ve finished my first novel, I hope you enjoy and I’d love your feedback!
The site we find ourselves on is a crowdfunding platform similar to Kickstarter or Indiegogo. You’re able to pre-order my book and help me get published. After I hit 250 pre-orders I’ll be digitally published on amazon and there will be a limited amount of physical copies, 750 or more gives me a full print run at major booksellers as well!
That’s the normal Inkshares treatment. The Geek & Sundry contest plays a bit looser with those rules. The top three books based on unique pre-orders will be published even if they don’t reach the aforementioned thresholds. Also, one or more of these books will also be included in the Geek & Sundry collection on Inkshares! The contest ends November 1st, 2016.
