Discussion

**PLEASE READ**

Hey supporters! Some of you I’ve begun reaching out to individually already, but I wanted to give an overall update.

I’ve had time to weigh my options in regard to the pathway I want to take with publishing. I’ve decided that I don’t think Inkshares will complement the vision I have for Mariel, and I’d like to retain full publishing rights for the book. That being said, I’ve decided to end this campaign and work towards my own publishing launch with my own, hand-picked team of people who see and feel the goals I have for Mariel. I’ll reach out individually to those who pre-ordered, but you WILL be given an automatic refund with no action needed on your part.

I’m building a subscription list for any supporters who would like to keep being updated on Mariel’s official release, which I hope to be in the early Fall or late Summer. If you’re interested in being added to the list, please email me at ajfrazierbooks@gmail.com.

Thank you all so much for your support and your rise to the call. I will never forget it, and I look forward to providing you a finished book that honors the support you’ve all given me.

We named a winner for merch today! Congrats, Austynn!

Thank you all again for your support! Mariel is catching fire. I’ve sent out almost 30 copies for review.
One of the best reviews so far from a beta reader was that they was halfway through and completely enthralled, and that they believed it would make a fantastic Netflix series.

Boom. That was my goal. A film experience in literary packaging.

Thank you all!
A.J.

Out of hundreds of submissions, Mariel was selected not once, but twice - by two respected hybrid publishers—Atmosphere Press and Girl Friday Productions—to move forward in their process.

I’ve queried a couple traditional publishers who match my vision and intention for Mariel. I am deliberate about the path I take, because while I understand that traditional house publishing has no upfront costs, there is a risk that the author loses rights in areas I’d rather not see affect Mariel.

I’m taking my time to make sure Mariel finds the right publishing home, whether that be traditional, hybrid, or self-publish—one that protects the heart of this story while helping it reach the readers it was meant for. No decisions yet, but momentum is building, and I’m incredibly grateful for those of you supporting me through the chaos and joy of this process.

Tomorrow is the day I do the drawing for the pre-order merch winner! I will be in contact. A photo of the merch will be available on my Facebook page soon: A.J. Frazier - Author.

Thanks!

Hi readers! If you haven’t yet followed my Facebook page, here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61576026625139

The interview with Girl Friday Productions went well. They are reviewing my entire manuscript! In about 2 weeks, I’ll have an idea if that is a path I want to take, or if I re-route to another direction to make sure Mariel gets in the hands of readers who need the story. Regardless which direction I choose, please know that if Inkshares doesn’t work out, you’ll obtain a full refund. But, as of now, we’re still in this to win this.

Thank you so much for all of the support; it’s been overwhelming.

Small update I’m excited to share — I’ve been in communication with Girl Friday Productions about Mariel and the direction this story could take. Girl Friday is a selective hybrid publisher that works with authors serious about building long-term careers — they don’t take everyone, but they saw something in Mariel!

I’m not just trying to push any story out there - I believe Mariel has the fundamental ability to entertain while simultaneously changing lives.

I’m going to keep campaigning on Inkshares while these paths open, because I believe I stand a good chance at getting my dream as an author ignited here.

If you’ve followed or preordered — thank you. Every bit of support helps push this toward something bigger. If you’ve been on the fence, this is a really good moment to jump in.

I’m serious about this story, and about doing it right, and seeing where it’s headed.

Thank you all, and stay tuned for merch!

DAY ONE — Thank You

In just 13 hours, Mariel has gained 7 preorders and 17 followers. I’m blown away.

Thank you to everyone who’s read, followed, preordered, or messaged me. This story has lived in me for years, and seeing it start to move like this means more than I can say.

My dream for Mariel isn’t just to see it published. I believe it could live on screen. Netflix, Hulu, wherever it lands… I built a world to last.

To everyone who’s joined early: thank you. You’re not just readers — you’re the reason this story might break through. As my book says, “To be human is to feel, and it’s okay to feel.”
And I am definitely feeling right now.

I’ll be uploading Chapter One soon. If you’ve read the prologue already, I’d love to know what hit you hardest.

Love,
A.J.F
