Indiana Jones meets Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in this, the story of Jack Haagenz, an interstellar cartographer who comes back to work from a month-long vacation only to have the fourth-worst day of his life.

The story takes place across several planets and focuses on the single human deemed fit to map anomalies in space. His latest assignment is to do a quick investigation of a new black hole that’s forming, calculate its size, scope, and potential dangers, then report back to his superiors on whether or not it’s a threat to the local planets and if they’ll have to re-route the hyperspace travel lanes around it. Along the way he’s flushed through a wormhole, his ship is hijacked, he’s captured by and escapes from a primitive race of warrior-women, and ultimately learns the truth behind where the black hole came from and why it’s there. And the truth could very well kill him...and two entire planets of innocent bystanders.
