This is not exactly a work in progress. The novel has been finished. However, I have multiple versions, and am not yet ready to decide which one I’d be best to set forth with. There are three main points on which I’m undecided, and hope to receive comments/feedback:

1) The ending: I have two endings. The first ending is ’unfiltered’, which is mostly to say that it is the ending I arrived at organically. It is unconcerned with what the reader might prefer, and instead is the ’logical’ ending which ought to be expected. The second ending lends favorably towards a sequel (and most likely a trilogy). It is a less-than-tragic ending, and I am curious to see whether, based on the samples provided, readers are at all pleased with the tragic elements of both the story plot and my writing style.

2) Reader friendly: at times, my (poetical) writing style and diction are not all too appealing to casual readers. I have one version of the story that can be, at times, very psychologically, philosophically and linguistically demanding. That is, not always reader friendly. Alternatively, I have a version of the story that can be read much more briskly, and which requires therefore that I sacrifice some of the story’s psychological and poetical depth.

3) References: this story is packed with allegory, allusion, and genuine science (for the most part not speculative). For this reason, the book is most likely to have a niche or ’cult’ appeal; it will appeal most to those who are generally erudite or well-read, and scientifically literate. It is possible however that I will remove a lot of references, if this will help my story appeal to a greater common denominator.
