I was inspired to write Inherent Destiny when I found out my son would be born in the year of the Horse as well as being born a Scorpio, the same as myself. I know how stubborn and difficult I can be and so I wondered what it would be like to raise a carbon copy of myself and the fights we would get into. But as I held him and looked at him, there was only love and the future concerns went away. I needed only to worry about the present and the future would come whether I worried about it or not. I wanted to write a book around a father and son relationship and after reading about the Arecibo message in 1974 where they sent a radio message to Messier 13 (which is 25,000 light years away in the Hercules constellation) I thought about a space story which takes place there (or somewhere there). Now 25,000 light years away is far. The message should be received around the year 26,974! To get an idea, our fastest spacecraft is the New Horizons that just made it past Pluto and it goes at a speed of 15 m/s. At that speed, it would take us 483,708,691 years to get here.
So one idea merged with another and Inherent Destiny was born. Along the way the story took a life of itself and I eventually finished a novella length book! Now I’ll go back and flesh out characters, dialogue and add in some world building descriptors.
I’ll keep updating this section with how the zodioscope works and individual descriptions on each destiny and personality traits. Maybe also a character bio and tech used as well as the Gatin star system and the world’s within it.
