The Cold War was a time of intense competition fueled by fear between the US and the Soviet Union. This war between two of the world’s strongest super powers escalated further when Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin broke free of the bonds of Earth’s atmosphere. The US responded by dedicating their space program to being the first to put a man on the moon. The Soviets were secretly planning to go even further in the spirit of the competition...
Nearly 150 years in the future, the Confederation, a super country formed by the former European Union, the US, Canada, and Russia, begins playing with the idea of expanding beyond Earth and building settlements on Mars. When the third ship lands, the first city is already nearly completely built and self sufficient. But as they look to expand, history comes back to life as friends and strangers alike band together to survive in a harsh world with a new, unexpected danger.
In high school, I couldn’t get enough of the zombie genre. From Shaun of the Dead to 28 Days Later, the variety of characters always left me wondering what I would do if I were to write one. One day sitting together with some friends, we started talking about books we thought would be fun to write, and I started my pitch with "zombies in space." It was a great evening of discussing the finer points of how they got there, what caused them to turn, and how was it going to be made into a story.
I know where my story will end and the answers to all of these questions, however, I only write after consuming a six pack so getting there will be an adventure for all of us. Included here are the first few chapters, a taste of what you’re getting into; I’ll edit for content and grammar when I have completed more chapters and sobered up.
