Watching action movies, even as a little kid, I always wondered about what would happen if one of the Stormtroopers on the Death Star had killed Luke and Leia as they swung across that chasm or if James Bond had been hit by one of the thousands of bullets ricocheting around him as he slid down a satellite dish.

Would that just... be it? Movie’s over folks, thanks for coming? Or would that random henchman become our new protagonist? Do they even realize they’re just henchmen, cannon fodder sent to die by honest-to-god villains?

This idea always fascinated me, and I always wondered why no one had ever written that movie or that comic or that novel.

So I decided that - if I wanted to read it - I was going to have to write it myself.
