Summary:
The Earth is being threatened by unusual enemies: orc biker gangs, French cyborgs, an ancient order of samurai and demons from the center of the planet. Michael Storm, karate master imbued with the power of living lightning, is tasked with joining other warriors to defend the Earth. Together, they are the Eleguardians.
Only... They’re not. Michael Storm is in fact Mitchell Shinada, an American convenience store clerk recruited by the United States Department of Defense. What makes Mitch special is that, as a part of the EG Program at Project Oasis, his mind has been tapped into what is believed to be an alien computer known as the Aquifer. People are able to manifest within a virtual world inside the device, effectively entering a virtual reality video game.
The EG Program aims to conquer the game contained within the Aquifer, many believing that the world is an elaborate key to unlock the wealth of knowledge the computer contains. Interfacing with unknown technology can have consequences, and both Mitch and his companions begin to worry what effects the EG Program have on their minds and bodies.
