In the next day or so, I’ll be posting a video that includes a short excerpt from the book, complete with music and visuals. I’m just an amateur actor and only a video-editing hobbyist, but hopefully it catches the tone well. So keep an eye out. I hope to have it up tomorrow!

Thanks for the kind words, Steve! I’m enjoying the writing -- although the typical labyrinthine plot of the detective novel gets a bit dizzying sometimes (not just for me; the great Raymond Chandler famously forgot an entire character in "The Big Sleep," leaving one murder unsolved). For those of you who’d like to read more than you can see here, remember, you can read the first five chapters in their entirety over at goodbyeangelblog.wordpress.com. I’ll be adding updates -- and the occasional excerpt -- in the future as well. And as always, I welcome any feedback you might have.
So, finally had to time to read and properly pay attention to the first five chapters. I’m enjoying the story. The pacing is good, it doesn’t feel too fast but the story is moving along nicely. I like the narrator’s voice, I have a few Chandlers and The Maltese Falcon on my shelves and Salewski echoes their detectives while being his own character. Definitely a book to read in its entirety when it is finished. Get writing Ryan! :)

I’m hoping to use the blog to steer folks back to Inkshares, so if you happen to know any mystery fans, point them in my direction! Also, to other Inkshares writers: if you’ve got a Wordpress blog about your book, let me know so I can follow you. My Wordpress follows show up on my blog’s sidebar, so we can get some possible cross-pollination going.

I’ve thrown a couple of links on Reddit and Digg -- which I actually didn’t realize was still a thing -- and I’ve started a blog (goodbyeangelblog.wordpress.com) in hopes of getting some search engine traffic. I’m still feeling my way through the whole crowdfunding thing, but I’m enjoying the writing. Once again, a big thank you to those of you who’ve read or pre-ordered. And if you have any feedback on what you’ve read, I’d be more than happy to hear it!

As I hoped, the simple act of posting this book on Inkshares and having a goal has given me the kick in the pants I needed to get this book going again. On Saturday alone, I knocked out about 4,000 words -- twice my usual daily output when I’m writing. I’m 14 chapters in now, with part of chapter 15 done, and my intrepid detective now has yet another murder to worry about. Things are getting exciting!
