I believe a true Deist would say an omniessent God is the Essence of our Being and that it is not our Being that defines us but rather our Essence. This is a central thesis statement on a Deist’s metaphysics and the question of Identity. As for the Identity of God, an omniessent empirical Being is in a very scientific sense, Nothing. Christopher Huang · Author · added about 3 years ago I remember reading that whereas all creatures are made up of an Essence and a Being (that which defines it and the act of existence) God is purely the act of Being, without the definitive Essence. I assume your Idea is linked to this? It’s a rather shocking way of putting things! John Ashbrook · Author · added about 3 years ago I will make sure and get a more detailed foreward up soon. I also work at a Steakhouse and this is our busiest time of the year.
