Chapter 1
As I stand in line one hot summer day, waiting for the new console that Nintendo is publishing Nintendo Plus. It’s been only a few months since the Nintendo 64 was out, its exciting that we finally get something new. Little did I know something much worse was at play. My name is Eren Montiel I am 18 years old and I love retro games I was at a local GameStop by my house when it happened. As I stand with my hands in my pocket waiting for my turn to get the new council I hear a local news station come on. “PlayStation just released there next big council making it better then the new Nintendo Plus, says to be more powerful and more challenging games, PlayStation will start selling at the nearest Walmart in the next hour and to get your soon because I will include two free games”, as I hear this I see people glance at each other and run to their car. I stay put along with a few other people. I was always a Nintendo fan, playing all the games of Mario, Zelda and 007 I was pretty committed. Then another announcement came on. “Microsoft just jumped in and is now selling there council naming it Xbox Ultimate, and is going to push over 15 titles with a membership, membership includes cheaper games in the future and a 30% discount any future titles and councils, trucks are loading as we speak across the country.” That’s when I decided to hold off on buying the Nintendo Plus, because I knew they will make something better soon.
After two weeks of non stop coverage of the video game companies making promises that’s there counsels are better, Nintendo came out and said they have been working on a counsel that will reimagine everything you know about gaming by putting the gamer inside the game, the call it Nintendo Forever. It was set to relies in three weeks. Now I knew something like this would happen and I couldn’t contain my happiness I was so excited that I even went to my savings account and grabbed extra money just so I was sure to have enough. The following week PlayStation and Microsoft also said the will change the game but never gave to much detail about it making seem like it was a bluff. The day off the release of Nintendo Forever had near hundreds of people lined up in every store they sold video games. I was lucky that I came four days before, I was pretty determined, but even then I was 25 people behind. As the clock struck to open the store one by one went inside grabbed the Consul and walked out with a grin in there face. When it was my turn my heart heated really fast because of the excitement. As soon as I walked out I ran home and plugged everything in. It was a weird consul, looked more like Nintendos R.O.B system but with more wires and it doesn’t look like a cute robot. The instructions said to plug my self in using the wires with sticky tape at the end of it, placing them in my temples, arms, legs and heart, next was a heavy looking helmet that covered the face. As I turned it on I saw the screen saying,

I closed my fists in excitement and scrolled through a gallery of games of all Nintendos past, and sent the rest of the day playing the classics. I spent most my time with the legend of Zelda because that was my favorite. Seeing Hyrule Field in first person was surreal And nostalgic. It felt good become someone I always wanted to be, a hero. After the sun went down I felt my body go weak so I decided to stop playing, but I couldn’t take the wires off, they where stuck to my skin! I tried pulling but it seemed like I was gonna tear my skin off I freaked out and turned the power on and off over and over again but nothing worked. All of a sudden I see a flash on the screen saying,
Reborn…
A jolt of electricity went to my veins and I jolted back and forth till eventually I felt my back hit my wall and I passed out. I woke up in the hospital with my family crying. I lifted my arm and to tell my mom what happened, but the doctor stopped me. “ don’t move you got shocked you need to stay still you are the meany lucky young men that survived the electric shock the the Nintendo counsels gave you. I looked up at the TV and sure enough it was a recall for all Nintendo Forever to be returned for faulty wiring. Also an apology to all the lost gamers that didn’t survive the shock. I laid in silence because I could never be a hero again, I was paralyzed.
The next day I got out of my bed and walked to the bathroom and as I looked in the mirror I see that I had three red heart behind my arm. I don’t remember getting a tattoo before I walked out of the bathroom confused, “ Mom! When did I get a tattoo?” I looked up and saw my mother, father, and brother looking at me in shock. “What?” I ask. Then I remember what happened to me I was paralyzed! I panicked and screamed, “what’s happening, why am I moving, why do I have a tattoo now” my mom tried calming me down and called the nurse. The nurse came in and was shocked that I was up and called the doctor. After an hour or two the doctor came in, “ it’s a miracle of the world you, turns out you aren’t the only one who is up everyone who got shocked has stood up!” My mom jumped for joy and and hugged me tight. I was so happy I hugged my mom and noticed that she was letting go, I was squeezing her really tight! “Mom!” She feel down and passed out. “Nurse!” Yelled the doctor. My mom got put in the bed turns out she was bruised pretty badly, I didn’t know I was so strong.
Days pass and all over the news these “miracle children” as they call us, start performing amazing feats. One can read minds, other are super strong, or breath fire. All baring the same heart tattoo in there left arm. I lost weight gained mussel and became super fast. Eventually we lived in a world that was at piece, but it didn’t last long people became full of them selves and the “miracle children” became someone they feared. Fights broke lose and soon reloaded that the hearts in the left arm where their life bar. It was like we all gained super powers from Nintendo Forever.
I was walking to my job when I saw a man punch a kid a few feet for walking in his direction, I stood in smoke from why the world has become, then as the kid did flips in the air he stopped him self Andean flying! He then flew towards the mans chest and got a direct hit the man lost a heart. The kid then moved his arms making hand symbols and shot pixilated fire balls at him making the man lose the rest of his hearts. K.O. The man loses his muscles and gets up screaming that he isn’t strong anymore. He had lost his powers. I look at the kid as he smiled and I see that he gained EXP which stands for experience points and leveled up. I was confused of what was going on, I turned and saw everyone scared and Trying to hide. As I go to work tell on of my co workers about the fight, he tells me yeah happens all the time he watches the fights online there are a ton. Naturally I ask why do the my get EXP on top of there head and level up. He looked at me in confusion and asked what I was talking about, I disregarded it and continued working.
On the way home I see a teen boy about 15 walking in front of me with a hood on. I stay at a steady pace and ignore him. Soon an old lady comes to view and I notice he walks fast, then as the lady comes closer the teen boy grabs the bag! The old lady struggles but eventually let’s go because the teen was part of the miracle children. Just then something in me pushes me to say,”stop!” He turns and laughs “what are you gonna do about it” I roll my sleeves and say,” stop or I’ll make you stop” he notices my hearts and eases off, “psh whatever” he drops it and runs away. I breath because I don’t know what I would have done! I never fought before it’s good I scared him off. The lady grabs he bag and says “ thank you young man you’re my hero” and walks home. It felt good being called a hero I felt a calling to it and then at the point I new I was destined to become a hero.
The next day I watched fighting videos and read on how to fight as I trained doing push ups and thinking of names I should call my self. One day as I was working out a see a girl watching me, I felt amazing and tried to push my self to show off but ended up looking like an idiot as I tripped and fell. She walked over with a mad look.
“ hey you’re the guy that let that teen age punk get away, I was tracking him for weeks” she yells,
I looked at her she was beautiful with long black hair and brown eyes, I stood up and apologize
“ I’m new to this hero thing, my name is Eren.. “,
” I don’t care I’m not here to flirt I’m here to ask where he headed”,
“ well you saw me why didn’t you chase after him after he ran off?
” “Because I wanted to see if you where working for him, he has done tricks like that before pretending to be stopped by another so called hero and turn out his partner snatches it and runs”
I look at her and she’s really short for a girl to clam she is a gamer “ well I need help with being a hero and I’ll tell you where he said he was going”, I lied. She looks at me for a bit as if she was judging me but eventually rolls her eyes and says yes.
