Futurist Art is an art book [digital art and oil paintings] that will connect you to a notion of advancement and intrigue. The book will begin with an extensive essay regarding the history and future of futurist art. Key research items will include an in depth examination of leading Italian, Russian, American Futurist artists and art trends that were greatly influenced by futurism. While futurism plays a great role in forming ideals of forward thinkers, it is also reflective of the past. Futurism is a 20th century art movement. Being able to embrace a new world and new beginnings is a continued mantra of alternate philosophies of the world. This theme will be evident in a new futurist manifesto.
With this work, I will introduce a genre of nouveau futurism art to the world. Nouveau futurism will inspire creatives from several artistic fronts to combine projects and collaborate with opposites.
Futurist Art: Ideas in a Fractal Universe explores fractal based art using Apophysis and Photoshop programs. The essay is divided into three parts: an explanation of futurist thinking and futurist art in todays’ market; the use of digital programs to produce art and a review of select pieces from the solo exhibition as part of the 2013 Roxbury Open Studios annual art walk.

This project will be Volume I of a series of 10 total volumes.
When I think of the future, it encompasses the art of paintings, music, writing and experiences. I want to revive a seemingly lost art form and inspire new artist through multiple media to subscribe to the new manifesto and above all -- create. The creation of art and the inspiration for art needs a new direction and we must look to the future for it. This project will be widely promoted and showcased in order to increase the awareness of this lost art form.

What project funding will achieve
With the funds raised, I will acquire supplies and spend 6 months creating new digital and oil pieces to complete the book. Additional monies will be used to have professional scanning and photography services performed to bring the drawn images to life. Part of the research process will take me to Italy, Russia, the American mid-west and to Japan. A portion of your purchase ($5) will be donated in your name (if you wish) to support youth art camps during the Open Studios in October 2014. The youth art camps will have a futurist focus of course.
