The year is 2788, and Earth is now a leading member of the Confederacy of Free Worlds. While it has found peace, that isn’t the case for all of humanity and its allies. On the distant frontier world of Argosia, known to the locals as Moonshine, resistance and rebellion against the local government is on the rise. Threatening to cut off the export of a rare, valuable source of fuel essential to interstellar travel, the local government petitions the Confederacy of Free Worlds for help. Captain James Langley has received the call, and he will do whatever he can to preserve the peace.

Not all is as it seems, with good and evil appearing on both sides. With the help of his crew, James makes a bid for peace, but not everyone on Argosia wants it. Some would use the unrest for personal gain, while others work towards mysterious gains. Meanwhile, James struggles to return to his normal life after his wife, Mackendra, returns from a lengthy archaeological trip.

As for James’ first officer, Commander Lyngia Starev, clues begin surfacing connecting Argosia’s troubles to a much larger threat: a secret government organization she once belonged to. While she had hoped to put that past behind her, building tensions threaten to draw her back in.

Can James and his crew bring an end to this rebellion, or is it doomed to plunge Argosia into civil war and disrupt the Confederacy as a whole? Can Lyngia expose the secret organization’s interference, or will it lead to her destruction?
