Synopsis

Nissa Seravinn James never paid much attention to her strange first and middle name. In the icy, oil-filled Icelands, there’s never enough time for thinking about her history, not when there’s work to be done.

About Fae’d to Black

Fae’d to Black is inspired largely by the fantasy genre, but also from my life. As a child, I witnessed the Deepwater-Horizon oil spill that plagued the Gulf of Mexico. As a result, I saw the havoc it wreaked onto the environment and wildlife firsthand, and I wanted to combine those elements, which are usually only seen in science fiction, with the fantasy that I loved.

Additionally, as a person with a disability, I have experienced first-hand prejudice, simply because I couldn’t walk correctly. I wanted to include that same pain, confusion, and feeling of isolation into Fae’d to Black that I had experienced.

About the Author

I am a teenage writer who, for their entire life, has been in search for a good story. I suppose it makes sense that I eventually wrote one.

I am currently in high school, and enjoy reading books and playing with my dogs.
