Hi! My name is Anna Rodriguez.
I live in Milwaukee, WI. I work at a cafe. I have written stories since I was ten years old, all surrounded by themes of mortality and the perception of reality. Eden and the Eastern Glow is the first book I have finished completely, hopefully the first of many.
The idea for Eden and the Eastern Glow was devised when I saw how much success a simplistic story like Twilight could have. You have a relatively ordinary protagonist girl, paired with a supernatural and somewhat sinister guy, and throw in a third supernatural party who may be in love with her. Add a pinch of problematic scenery and mysterious back story. My book is meant to be the missing link between fantasy fluff and literary merit. It is a prose-heavy journey of a woman trying to end the immortal life of her lover, in a futuristic society that does not understand emotion.
My other goal in this story was to write a gory, fairy tale that serves as a prologue to the Bible. I have always appreciate cyclical history stories, as well as the unexplained, mythical elements of the Bible (giants, angels, demons, behemoths, etc.). This fantasy story sets out to explain everything; the concept of Hell, original sin, and creation itself.
What happens after Eden and the Eastern Glow is funded?
Eden and the Eastern Glow is fully written and being edited by a good friend of mine at the moment. If this book is fully funded, Inkshares will do their edits, I will hire someone to design a cover image, and within a few months, crowd-funders will have a copy of my book!
If you donate, weekly e-mails will be sent to you in regards to the progress of the completion of Eden and the Eastern Glow. My Tumblr blog will also be updated with images and music that helped inspire the settings and feel of the story, acting as visceral aids for the setting of the novel.
