SYNOPSIS
When her father falls deathly ill, Fae alchemist Decanta commits the ultimate taboo by summoning aid from another dimension. But the strange boy from the realm of humans and machines brings something far more disastrous than an invading force. He brings knowledge that her world isn’t real.
Now, astral titans and abominations that have made the dream their home are hunting them both down, trying to quash the last sparks of lucidity so that the dreamer never wakes up. The unlikely duo of mortal and figment must outrun the gods and face a necromancer with a pencil mustache, a hammy mechanical dragon, and the dreamer herself before confronting the final question: is it better to live forever in fantasy or to embrace a worthwhile death?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hello everyone! A pleasure to meet you.
My name is Daniel Wagner, a native Oregonian, Bolivian, and German. I am a stage, film, and voice actor, as well as a playwright, standup comedian, artist, tabletop roleplayer, LARPer, and most recently, novel writer. I’m also very silly, but I’m not sure that’s something you put on a resumé.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by the individuality of the human experience. We live our lives peering out from three pounds of gray noodles locked in a bone box. One-third of the time, we can’t even look outside. We process the world, and in doing so create our own that’s different from the rest. Sometimes, beautifully and dangerously so.
But what happens when dreams leave one brain and travel to another? What happens when they enter the real world and start to change it? What if dreams are the most powerful magic we have--and we just need the right vessel to channel them through?
This is mine. And I hope you find a little magic within.
