I, Ramakanth Jnnavittula am aged (85) and I am a victim of BP and diabetes. I suffer from macular degeneration and glaucoma; I can read and write only on the computer with the help of magnification devices. Therefore I almost gave up the use of my websites.

Yet, I am passionate about writing and continue to write when my health permits; I hope that my writings would continue to interest and entertain my readers.

I am a (Double) Ph.D. in Mathematics and in Business Management; I am also a Fellow of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences. I retired in 1991 after an active career as Professor of Mathematics at various universities in India, USA and Canada. He currently resides in Dix Hills. NY.

I was interested in literature from my college days in the fifties. Avenues for publication were limited. Moreover, only poets were regarded as authors; prose writers were gradually beginning to gain reputation. I decided to remain a prose writer and tried my hand at short story. My very first short story ‘Telukatu’ was published in the early fifties in BHARATI, which was reputed as the premier literary magazine! Thereafter, I published stories and plays in reputed Telugu magazines like Sravanti, Jayanti, Natyakala and of course, Bharati.. My drama Kalachakram was staged at the All India Andhra Nataka Kala Parishattu competitions at Tanuku in 1960 and was awarded four prizes, including the second prize for the script.

Visaladhra Publications published a collection of my 16 short stories named Kathaguchcham in 1995. I won the second prize for the story Kanuvippu in 2008 at the competitions conducted by the American Telugu Association. I obtained author’s permission and translated Arthur Miller’s drama The Price into Telugu.
