One of my favorite aspects of writing is the constant questioning of what could be instead of what already happens to be.
Roger Gabriel lived his life according to routine. Wake up, go to work, and handle the calls no one else from his precinct deemed worthy of their badge nor honor. It wasn’t exactly what he’d hoped for, but it wasn’t the worst thing he figured could have happened to him. Isaac "Ike" Miller reveled in the extraordinary all of his adult life, but found himself always wanting more. As fortune would have it, something powerful happened to hear those dreams of being more and it’s prepared to make them come true...but it at a great cost.
Dissonance in Harmony explores a universal desire to find greater adventure in daily life, the concept that we are all meant for something greater, and blends fantastical and typical in a way that blurs the line between the two at times.
If nothing else, it’s been fun to write. I do hope, should you check it out, it’s just as much fun to read as well.
