Dave’s Deranged Dreamworld: Winter’s Woe
Dave treaded through the thick, ice cold snow, as he made his way through the woods, desperately clinging to whatever grain of sanity he had left inside of him. desperate and in need of shelter, he began to regret not planning ahead for winter, as it seems time really does stop for no man, and harsh winters come in this demented world as well. Dave’s stomach seemed to let out a growl of hunger that rivaled even the most fearsome beasts that inhabited the forest. Despite this, Dave continued to travel through it, with neither a map nor destination in mind.
As Dave continued to endure and make his way, the woods began to disperse and as they did Dave began to notice he had arrived at what appeared to be a graveyard. A strange light could be spotted in the distance as well as a dark faded figure. Blurred by the harsh winters wind, Dave tried to make out what it could be as he made his way towards it. The Dark figure began to take shape and it appeared to be that of another human. Dave slowly approached the strange figure while watching its every move, for Dave had learned a few things having traversed this enchanted and deranged world. The first of which was that things are not always what they seem, and no matter how cautious you are, you are never cautious enough.
He began to be able to see the person in more detail and depth as he approached closer and closer, until he could indeed confirm it was another human, and a strange looking one at that, but a human nonetheless. The man was wearing a tattered vest and jacket that swayed in the wind and his hat was shredded with holes. His unkempt hair could be seen coming through the many holes in his hat as well. He appeared to be an odd one for sure, but even as odd as he was; he was still the most normal thing Dave had encountered in quite some time.
Dave noticed that the man was shoveling dirt out of one of the cemetery’s graves as he was quite close to the man at this point yet the man payed no attention to Dave whatsoever, and instead seemed intensely focused on his task. Hungry and desiring to get out of the Cold, Dave hoped that the man would have a home nearby that he could stay at. He noticed two large black bags positioned next to the strange man. Dave began to be a bit more concerned after spotting them, but Dave’s overwhelming hunger allowed him to rationalize even the most irrational decisions.
“the winter claims many victims, did you know those two personally?” Dave asked the strange man.
The man stopped, slowly turned his head towards Dave, and stared directly into Dave’s eyes. A frightening chill overcame him as the man gave no reply, yet neither one could take their gaze away from each other. The man seemed to be very uncaring and cold, but the freezing chill of winter was far colder in Dave’s eyes. Dave swallowed a gulp and tried asking him again.
