Damascus begins in a somewhat current setting (much like earth’s late 1800’s) and gives frequent clues to events that happened long ago which set the current weapon’s clash into motion.

The plot leads to a final battle between the two remaining weapons of the six central Gods while giving information about past events and focuses closely on a few small groups of mortals who will be indirectly affected by battle between the two weapons.

as the universe began, 6 gods existed, each wielding a living weapon. They fought over territories and only by one weapon consuming another, could a god be quelled. The Goddess of light harbors the weapon Damascus, Who has at this point in the story consumed Cthulu, the Chains weapon, Yliaster, the axe, diermud the lance and twin daggers Arsu and Azizos. She calls upon their souls to wield their likeness in battle.

The Goddess of light and God of Fire, who harbors Ulfberht the sword, have for millenia freed their weapons in a truce. This leaves the two weapons vulnerable to manipulation or consumption by the other.

Within the story, only two of the Central Gods are revealed, Peylon who ferries the dead and Vernathus: Goddess of light.
