I am a U.S. ARMY veteran of 8 years born and raised in Washington, DC that specialized in Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Operations that studied Business Management at Elizabeth City State University for 2 ½ years before joining the military. 6 months into my first year of service I experienced the unexpected and tragic loss of my mother Cynthia Howard, to whom this book is dedicated. Great person, mother, role model and chef to whom I accredit all of my culinary skills to. Due to my fast paced career path I was unable to take the time off needed to deal with this momentous event, so I was forced to bury all my grief and pain deep inside and stay on track with the life I had previously chosen to be able to give my mother a better life. Unfortunately by keeping all of those feelings inside, a little under a year after my loss I developed a stomach condition known as Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. A disorder characterized by sudden and recurrent episodes of intense nausea/vomiting and severe abdominal pain and migraines that can last anywhere from an hour to 10 days, so you can see why being able to treat an episode anywhere and anytime is so important. After years of going through countless prescription medications for both the nausea/vomiting and the pain, all of which had debilitating side effects for continuous use. I was referred to a C.V.S specialist who informed me of the possible benefits of treating my condition with the use of cannabis for both symptoms.
