Gemma Perilune is trying to piece together the fragments of her broken life. As the owner of a small flower shop in 1960s Boston, she navigates an onslaught of mini-crises, while teetering precariously on the imaginary line that bridges the magical and mundane. Just when she feels like she can’t take anymore, her kids start behaving very strangely, there are a string of neighborhood burglaries, and a mysterious man from her past shows up in town. Desperate for a modicum of normalcy, but not sure where to turn, Gemma begins to fall into the trap of trusting the very people that she probably shouldn’t. All the while harboring a terrible secret of her own.
If you’re a single mom who’s lost her prince charming and is looking to regain her power - or - just a fan of the moon and stars and the magic they possess, then this book is for you!
With this project I am hoping to gild the typical chaotic frenzy of a single mom’s life with a tinge of magical realism - letting mystical twists seep in slowly and unexpectedly to help remind readers of the sometimes overlooked real miracles that exists in everyday life.
I’d love to get feedback to see if the writing is engaging or needs adjustment. Any comments would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you!
