I’m an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction, a teacher, and a father of 3. I’ve always had a love of epic fantasy where flawed main characters with hidden strengths prevail but leave haunting scars.
I have had an idea of a group of soldiers who are varied in temperment but good at what they do. After the end of a skirmish, they find themselves with a baby and an excuse to leave the endless war rampaging the known world. They raise this boy the best they can with a pure and naive heart protected from danger but taught the skills of war without understanding what war really means. With that backstory, he finds himself young in the dangerous world and through misdeeds, miscalculations, and mayhem fumbles to find his way.
Being safe for 16 years of his life, he finds himself alone and scared with what appears to be everyone and everything trying to kill him.
