Farley’s detailed plan for life (and prom!) falls apart when his girlfriend leaves him, but coffee-obsessed Nell crashes into him at the right moment. She may not want to be his date, but she may just show him what life is like without rigid plans.

Detailed summary (spoilers abound!):

Farley Corrigan isn’t the type of guy who deviates from his plans. A great student and senior at John Adams High School, he’s got his eyes set on Berkeley and JPL with his long-time girlfriend at his side.

But after she breaks up with him, Farley’s aims are shattered until he becomes infatuated with Nell Danvers - the coffee-obsessed blonde barista from Spacemoose. She’s the exact opposite of Farley’s rigid lifestyle, but there’s something about her (maybe it’s the fact that she’s being raised by her kidnappers, not that she’s hiding it, or maybe it’s her ankle tattoo of the pi symbol) that intrigues him.

As the school year ends, they fall in love and spend the summer together. With the threat of college looming to separate them, Farley has a choice to make. But one week before they go off to college, tragedy strikes. Nell is injured as she falls off the roof trying to save the life of another student, and their relationship may never be the same.
