I usually stick to writing short stories and poems, Canary in a Coal Mine is my first foray into attempting to write a novel. The idea behind the title at least, if you haven’t heard about it before, is in old mining days they used to keep canaries or other birds in little cages. The reason was they could detect dangerous gases that humans couldn’t and worked as a sort of alarm system against it. So, this book is about a similar idea, a young man sees the coming danger and tries to warn others, but runs in to trouble when no one will listen.
