Summary:
In the 21st Century, humanity built Zenith City, a floating metropolis in the sky above the Pacific Ocean. Defying the odds, the city not only managed to stay aloft but thrive, becoming a modern wonder of the age, and new step in international cooperation.
Blake McManus, an Irish-Canadian bartender, was just grateful to be living in Zenith City, even if his contribution to the wonder was just keeping the rest of the population happy. Unfortunately, a viral outbreak leaves many in the city paralyzed, in a form of stasis, and Blake himself may prove to be the Patient Zero of the disaster. It was the Buster Virus, and he, in turn, is now the Busterman.
As Zenith City’s many collaborators try to contain the virus, investigate the disaster and rescue the populace Blake himself is hunted, desperately seeking answers of his own. Is he the city’s destroyer, or its savior?
About the Book:
This project was has been in the works for over ten years, a concept I’ve reworked many times. A big goal for the story is to present fantastic elements, such as the Buster Virus and Zenith City, while at the same time making them grounded, more hard science fiction than just fantasy. Just because the story contains plenty of action doesn’t necessarily mean there can’t still be a brain behind the wonders on display.
