I hope all is well with you all.
I pivoted from writing cybersecurity short novels. I decided to pursue cybersecurity technical writing for a bit. I am currently working on my first technical book, which is scheduled to launch mid-to-late 2020. I hope to return to writing fiction after that.
I took a break from writing my hacker stories late last year. I am debating whether I want to give others ideas on how to hack. I originally started writing the stories to be an entertaining way to learn about cybersecurity. I still have mixed feelings.
In the meantime, I have been focusing on cybersecurity technical writing. I recently started a series on serverless security. I had submitted my other book idea to the contest. I had wondered for years how well it would be received. I started writing a manuscript a couple years ago but didn’t take it anywhere because I was uncertain if it would be accepted; it made it available at https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-uprising-of-mike-streets-a-black-hat-chronicle/book_segments/chapters-1-and-2-original-manuscript-. Earlier this year I decided to rewrite the opening paragraph. When I heard of the Inkshares contest, I figured it was time to test the waters. The book idea is currently in 14th place with two orders.
One conclusion is I should focus on writing on the Black Hat Chronicles: Volume 1 before investing a lot of time into a full novel. Another conclusion is I need to write more on the full novel and test the waters again. I’m leaning toward spending more time on Volume 1. Your thoughts and inputs are welcome.

Hello dear readers, I have been wanting to write "The Uprising of Mike Streets" for several years now. When I started writing the Black Hat Chronicles collection of short stories, I was planning to have a shorter version of "The Uprising of Mike Streets" be part of the collection. Now there is an Inkshares contest and it seems like an opportune time to see if the original novel idea could succeed on its own. Please take a look at the project page. Your support and you forwarding it to others will help me determine if my original novel idea can succeed. Thanks for your support.

I’ve started adding place holder chapters for the short stories I would like to write. Do any of these stories catch your attention? Thanks for your support.
I decided to pivot from a large hacker novel to a volume of short hacker novels. This will enable me to share more stories with different plots and teach different cybersecurity lessons. I hope you like the pivot.
