I just discovered Inkshares tonight and this was the first story I read.  I don't know if this is the first chapter and if there are more, but I hope there are. I've only read about domestic abuse in fiction, and the little I read just don't sit well enough with me to continue, especially when many writers use it as a plot device to move a story along, sometimes a romance.  But this one works - it's real and it's said in a voice of a woman who could very well be among my people I know.
