Beta Tester is an online murder mystery.  It takes place in the near future, 2025.  VR is now in every home, games, movies, everything is connected to virtual or augmented reality.  People spend a massive amount of time in VR that they need a police force to patrol digital streets and prevent digital crimes.

A new game is being developed called: Incubus,  It’s an online VR game that let’s people create whatever they want, a mental Minecraft of world building.  What they don’t know is that there’s a monster in the system.  Someone has donned the avatar of Jack the Ripper and is killing beta testers in game, but the murders are being physically created on the victim’s bodies at their homes.

A young Chicago investigator, Amelia Lang, has been saddled with the case.  Can she catch a centuries old killer in the digital world?
