"I did not join the President’s Underwater Initiative by choice. Here in Tekong City, there are boys who want a last shot at life, some facing exile, some just poor Singaporeans who traded their life for money. Our goal is to win the ongoing First Civil War against the rebels who call themselves the Soldiers of Temasek. But we are the next generation elite army. We are not your regular NSmen."

Bell and Tiger’s Rock is the first book in the Temasek Holorecords series. The series grew out of a Peter Pan concept - an island of lost boys. But what if there were more than just boys, but a whole secret island of people who appeared to be lost from the families and country they knew, being reinvented and re-purposed for war?

Set in a post-civil war Singapore around 2029, Bell and Tiger’s Rock follows the lives of Peter and Tinc, both reluctant additions to the President’s Underwater Initiative, a secret subset of the Temasek Army consisting of soldiers and scientists looking to obtain a better life. Part man-part machine they struggle with the meaning of humanity and adapting to life in Tekong City and will be united by a common agenda against the approaching rebel forces.
