I’ve been writing for a while, I write mostly in the fantasy/sci-fi/speculative fiction genre and this story is an urban fantasy I’ve just started work on.

It tells the tale of Bastian Baird, an agent for a secret agency of magic users called the Magency who help to thwart the efforts of the League of Evil.

Bastian is a Bard, who can use his voice to convince people of certain things, and also uses musical instruments to channel his magic if it’s a strong spell.

He is on the search for a magical banjo that imbues its user with great power for good, or great power for evil. It is an ancient artefact that can save the world or destroy it.

Along the way he will have to deal with gnomes, gypsies, necromancers (called raisers in my story) and will be aided by clones and a not so useful sidekick.

This story is something that’s been bubbling away as an idea for quite a while, when I realised that there weren’t a lot of books about bards, so I decided to write one.
