Bad Italian Wine is a wonderfully written mystery that wastes no time placing the reader in the protagonist's shoes. Through several short moments, the reader can clearly see the Italian parents, smell the vineyards, and imagine the struggles they go through with building repairs. Of course the writing sample ends on a cliffhanger, making the reader want to know more.
